Abstract
An 82-year-old man presented at our clinic with a 3-year history of an of erythematous, verrucous plaque on his right inguinal area. Histopathologically, severe acanthosis, dysregulated hyperplasia of the epidermis, atypical hyperchromatic cells, and many clear cells were observed. In addition, invasion of tumor cells into the dermis were noted. On the suspicion of metastasis to the right inguinal lymph nodes based on the radiologic findings, lymph node dissection was performed. The dissected lymph node showed the same pathologic findings as the skin lesion. Immunohistochemical staining showed a positive reaction to cytokeratin 116 and epithelial membrane antigen (EMA). Based on these findings, clear cell squamous cell carcinoma with metastasis was diagnosed. We report a case of clear cell squamous cell carcinoma, which probably developed from underlying Bowen¡¯s disease.
